What were the years of operation for the American Varnish Co.? Any other information on this company? We have a family member who died in a fire at the factory in 1886. Newspaper article from Chicago Tribune attached to this memorial record. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/197087943/aristides-p-george and another article attached to this record: https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/memories/KX1K-RGF

Do you know if American Varnish and Chicago Varnish were the same or different companies. There is little online about either although Chicago Varnish built 33/35 W. Kinzie, now landmarked, and the home of Harry Caray’s restaurant.
I have found a 20 cent coin with tousey varnish company on it. I’m looking for information regarding this coin. Is this the same company as the American varnish company?
